Senior Construction Scheduler

Immediate opportunities currently exist in the oil and gas business for a Senior Construction Scheduler.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Develop schedule architecture and baseline for Integrated Project Schedules (IPS)
  • Provide the Project Controls services for the project
  • Versatile people skills, from the field foreman to the vice president
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to other team members
  • Manage and directly support schedule update process
  • Perform what-if schedule scenarios, advanced schedule analysis, and variance analysis reports
  • Manage schedule changes, analyze change impact, and perform forensic schedule analysis
  • Summarize schedule status in a narrative and create status reports and presentations for management
  • Performs as the schedule lead and facilitate schedule meetings
  • Produce schedule reports and analysis
  • Develop schedule and project-control related processes, procedures, and training


  • Construction/turnaround experience in refining/petrochemical projects is essential
  • Strong communication and presentation capabilities: written and verbal
  • Demonstrates a team spirit and strong dedication to success of the team
  • Multiple large-scale complex turnaround experience, $40 - $100MM+
  • Advanced knowledge in the construction of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Experience with field planning and progressing
  • Familiar with different scheduling approaches and techniques
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Primavera P6
  • Ability to travel frequently

Required experience:

  • Primavera Scheduling 10 years

Experience and qualification in these areas is beneficial:

  • Relevant Construction Experience 7+ years
  • Primavera Experience 5+ years
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Any certification from PMI or AACE is beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree an asset
