RLG International is pleased to announce that Mr. Kevin Brown will serve as a member of the Executive Advisory Council. The Executive Advisory Council is a committee of senior executives who serve as product and service advisors from the upstream and downstream oil and gas, aerospace manufacturing, and airline industries.

Mr. Brown has more than 36 years of industry experience. Before his retirement in February 2017, he served as LyondellBasell’s Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Refining, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies. In this role, Mr. Brown was responsible for the refining business including crude oil purchasing, product sales, central engineering, and capital project execution functions. He was globally responsible for 40+ manufacturing sites in 13 countries, including the LyondellBasell refinery in Houston, Texas.

In October 2015, LyondellBasell partnered with RLG in the development of the global turnaround excellence model and the rollout of the various sites. Mr. Brown was the key sponsor for RLG’s support on major global project initiatives. His leadership was fundamental to the success of these projects. Mr. Brown focused his strategy to achieve excellence and drive performance by building a culture of continuous improvements and implementing visibility of leading indicators.

From 2009 to 2015, he was LyondellBasell’s Senior Vice President, Refining, directly responsible for the manufacturing and business operations of the Houston refinery and Berre, France refinery before closure.  In addition, he was responsible at various times for the global oxyfuels (MTBE and ETBE) business, corporate procurement, central engineering and capital project execution functions.

Prior to joining LyondellBasell, Mr. Brown served as Executive Vice President, Operations and a director of Sinclair Oil Corporation. Since 2000, Mr. Brown has been heavily involved with NPRA, the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association. He first joined as a member of Coordinating Subcommittee of two National Petroleum Council studies on the refining industry and fuel supply.  In 2008, Mr. Brown was elected as Vice Chairman of the association, then Chairman in the following year.
