Dec 28, 2018, 15:12 PM

Job Summary

The Company:

RLG is a global performance consulting company of about 225 employees with our corporate head office in the Greater Vancouver area. We partner with leading and recognizable companies for an immediate, lasting impact on financial performance and corporate culture, through front-line engagement. We might be small, but we currently work in 13 countries, with domestic transfers and expat assignments happening regularly. We are celebrating 36 years in 2019, and we have been named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies for six consecutive years.

The Position:

We're looking for someone in Vancouver with experience in mobility and international immigration with education/certification in a related field.

As the Global Mobility and Immigration Specialist, you will act as a key internal point of contact for all immigration and mobility needs. You will provide a case-management approach to all moves, transfers and short-assignments and support both our field-based leaders and our office based Global Support team. You will assist in navigating a complex and ever-changing immigration landscape around the world, liaising with both country websites and immigration agencies and law firms. You will also be the primary internal contact for all business visas.

As our people move between international or complicated assignments, you will work with business leaders and Global Support to prepare assignment letters detailing such items as: Salary, Benefits, Incentives and Allowances, Housing, Immigration, Relocation and Moves, Travel, Taxation, Pension, Vacation and Expenses. You are not expected to be the expert in all these, but rather, coordinate the many involved parties to summarize and complete each assignment case.

As you will be increasingly familiar with international cost-of-living and labour markets, you will become the point-person for coordinating salary benchmarking studies, cost of living adjustments and establishing allowances to ensure fairness and competitiveness for our employees, clients and business.

The Work Environment:

RLG’s corporate head office is a professional work environment of roughly 35 people. We are located near the SkyTrain line at Metrotown in Burnaby. We work five days per week, with typical office hours of 8:30 am through 5:00 pm, with flexibility to shift hours to fit personal needs. As an international company with colleagues and needs around the world, you will occasionally need to accommodate late or early calls.

As mobility cases can occur both last minute and with ample lead-time, the ideal candidate will have an organized but flexible mindset, ability to go with the flow, working both independently and within a team, always seeking to improve our processes and systems to best satisfy our employee and client experience.

Essential Job Duties:

A Rewarding Career with RLG

At RLG International we go beyond traditional consulting, by coaching face-to-face, with individuals and teams, in companies committed to “connecting the front line to the bottom line.” Our work as performance coaches enables employees at all levels to become involved and find their voice in the corporate challenge. Since 1983 RLG has led over 2500 performance improvement projects worldwide for multinationals in oil and gas, mining, nuclear energy, aerospace, defense, refining, forest products, agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, finance, and information technology. We are, without a doubt, a different kind of consulting firm.

RLG performance coaches coach for success. We use specific processes to implement significant behavioural changes that affect performance. The qualifications for a performance coach include a Master’s degree in business or a related field, 10 years or more full-time work experience, proven success working with people from shop floor to senior management, and proven leadership experience. Also, previous experience in consulting, project management, engineering, facilitation or coaching would be an asset. Unlike other consultants, we and our families relocate to most project sites for the duration of the assignments, usually ranging in length from 18 to 24 months. This commitment allows us to focus exclusively on the client company, integrate with the employees, and work with them to achieve long-term sustainable change. The key to the RLG process of winning is a strong desire to make a significant difference with and through people.
