Recap: RLG International Aerospace Professional Networking Event

Aug 16, 2017

RLG International gathered over 30 industry executives and influencers at the Fort Worth Club last Thursday, on August 10, 2017, to network and discuss current leadership challenges.

Event host Tom Hendricks, RLG Executive Advisory Council Member, spoke about leadership and followership from his experience in the Navy Topgun program and his subsequent experience overseeing the daily flight operations at Delta Airlines.

Tom introduced two amazing leaders, David Orban and Franky Marchand, who shared their current lessons learned from leading Performance Improvement initiatives for American Airlines and Volvo Trucks, respectively.

David Orban, Director of Line Maintenance at Chicago O’Hare for American Airlines, shared three poignant stories about how he was able to connect, develop trust, and effect change in team behavior of aircraft mechanics.  David’s recount of his personal experience leading this change was sincere and insightful.

Franky Marchand, GM of Volvo Trucks NA Dublin, Virginia, has implemented LEAN manufacturing concepts across three different cultures and plants, and shared some great thoughts on the differences encountered during the implementation process. Franky has a unique global perspective being from France, to working for a Swedish company, to competing with plants in Japan and Brazil, and finally to running Volvo’s largest truck plant in the USA.

Thanks to all who attended and made the evening both interesting and enjoyable.

Stay tuned for announcements of future RLG client events in Australia and Houston.
