Document and Graphic Designer, Burnaby, BC Office

Are you a skilled self-starter looking for your next exciting opportunity in desktop publishing and graphic design for marketing, social media, business development, client reports and internal documents?

We are a global performance consulting company of about 200 employees. We currently work in 11 countries, with familiar multinationals primarily in the resource industry. We are celebrating 36 years in 2019, and we have been named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies for seven consecutive years. Our friendly and professional office is conveniently located near SkyTrain transit in Burnaby, British Columbia.

This position is within our Global Support team and works closely with our Business Development and Communications Coordinator, our IT team, our Executive Assistant team, and our off-site Desktop Publisher. This is a full-time position in our office near Metrotown but part-time candidates should apply and specify requirements.


  • Work with colleagues worldwide to ensure compliance with brand identity standards and our corporate style guide, and take a leadership role in advancing the style guide, templates, look and feel of our documents to keep them fresh and progressive
  • Create professional and accurate documentation, including reports, proposal documents, information packages of our brochures and success stories
  • Work with outside agencies for graphic design, printing, banners, website, stock images, etc.
  • Contribute to and improve our PowerPoint files used for business development and client deliverable purposes, and contribute to continually improving our quality, look and message
  • Manage and maintain the document library, and introduce new document tracking and filing systems
  • Support our social media, including LinkedIn and website, introducing progressive ideas, templates, graphics and video
  • Support special projects such as conference, office and event planning, including both thematic graphic elements, online and printed literature to project a professional image

    Technical knowledge and skills we are hoping you have:

  • Microsoft Office 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, SharePoint
  • Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Comfortable using a PC as your day-to-day computer
  • Education and experience in the formal elements of typography and style sheets
  • Knowledge of colour spaces (CMYK, RGB and Pantone)
  • Experience in print production for digital and offset presses
  • A strong understanding of branding to work with and apply RLG’s Brand Standards and Style Guide to maintain a coherent brand across all media
  • Knowledge of website layout, design, HTML

    Experience and qualifications, we are hoping you bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • 1+ years in design school or equivalent self-taught and certified
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Good understanding of written and spoken English and clear communication skills
  • Experience in editing English grammar and spelling
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Comfortable with a quiet workspace with self-directed work on projects from many sources, sometimes rush and priority, sometimes leisurely
  • Enthusiastically creative – we look forward to some new ideas introduced in a collaborative way
  • Obsessively meticulous – able to pay attention to the details to maintain a high standard
  • Experience with knowledge management filing systems
